She is currently producing a multi-media project called Black Card, with Donte Felder and Stone Gossard. She is a co-founder of the nonprofit Everstrong (formerly StolenYouth), an organization combatting child sex trafficking and providing support to survivors and those with lived experience. Jennifer’s background an elder law attorney solidified her commitment to sharing intergenerational knowledge.

An acclaimed author and series editor for Princeton University Press, she currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Computer History Museum.
Her career spans from the Clinton Administration, where she shaped economic and social policy in the White House, to prestigious fellowships at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences. An alumna of Little Rock Central High School, she holds a BA from Northwestern University and a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania.

This background fuels her commitment to promoting equity and diversity through her work on Washington’s NAACP Youth Council and with other coalitions in the greater Seattle area. With a strong passion for filmmaking, Samra strives to express her values and beliefs through storytelling. She will be attending NYU Tisch next fall as a Cinema Studies major. She also works for the Social Justice Film Festival and is completing a project about her Ethiopian heritage.

At Gintis Consulting, she brought research rigor and careful writing to grant projects aimed at supporting mission-driven organizations.
As a researcher for Smith College's Centennial Archive, she helped preserve institutional history with an eye toward accuracy and accessibility. Her academic grounding in gender studies and the psychology of law informs a consistent focus on equity and whose voices get heard.
Outside the classroom, she leads the business operations of Smithereens A Cappella, managing a team of 15 and fostering a collaborative, inclusive community. She is drawn to work that is thoughtful, people-centered, and oriented toward meaningful change. students with the best possible education.
